Research study on Primary Health Care facilities and services rendered, South Africa
Health Partners Southern Africa conducted a review of three agencies providing health services in the new Buffalo City Municipality (incorporating East London, Mdatsane and King Williams Town and Amatola District Council) in South Africa.
The review included the following:
- Primary Health Care (PHC) services
- Human resources
- Finances
- Facilities
The project led to the development of an integrated management tool for capturing data and assessing PHC facilities.
This tool provided easy data capturing, analysis and reporting on key service and facility indicators by measuring facility performance in relation to workload/ patient coverage, equipment, infrastructure and staffing.
